So Long 2012

It's crazy to think that 2012 is coming to an end in just a few hours.  To say that this year has been full of ups and downs is an understatement.

There has been plenty of good but there has also been some things I wish I could go back and do over. You need to take those things as a lesson and move on.

2012 blessed me with an amazing internship and blossoming career opportunities. I've also been given some of the best friends I could ever ask for and am so thankful to have them in my life.

I'm anxious to see what 2013 will bring. I'm most excited to (hopefully) graduate from college!

As for closing out 2012, I'm planning on chilling at home and enjoying some time with the fam before heading back to school on Wednesday.

Enjoy the new year!

It's Christmas Time

Merry Christmas!
Wishing everyone happy holidays.

For Christmas I got the iPad Mini, unfortunately it won't be here until the first or second of January but that's definitely all I wanted for Christmas!

I'm spending the holidays in D.C. Unfortunately my dad and sister and I have all been super sick with a stomach bug.

My sister and I went to the Holocaust Museum the other day and tomorrow we'll be doing a tour of the capital and going to some of the other museums around D.C.  My dad lives about 2 miles from the monument mall so we'll be hitting up some of the monuments to.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

We finally have some legitimate snow in Wyoming!
I'm a little upset that it chose to snow the day that I was planning on going home but I'm still excited nonetheless.

Roxi was pretty excited to until she got to cold and practically dragged me back inside.

I took advantage and broke out my awesome berry colored infinity scarf from Target.  I had a work meeting today so I wore a sweater dress and my denim jacket. I looked super awesome shoveling snow in my J.Crew and riding boots.

Hopefully the weather will behave tomorrow so I can finally get out of town and start celebrating! I'm flying out to Virginia Friday morning with my sister so we can spend Christmas with our dad and grandparents.  Friday is also supposed to be the end of the world....call me paranoid but nothing better go wrong with my flight.

D.I.Y Mustache Mugs

Do It Yourself Mustache Mug.

What you need:

Acrylic Paint
A Ceramic Mug
A Mustache For Reference
A Sharpie
Paint Brushes

Mustaches are a huge inside joke at my internship.  Everyone has a little bit of an obsession.

So my roommate and I were looking for an easy and cheap gift to get everyone we work with and we came up with the mustache mug!

I've seen tutorials for these on Pinterest using a sharpie but they DO NOT work, unless you are using an acrylic sharpie and then in that case they do.

We opted for acrylic paint. My roommate is an art major and she just had a lot of this stuff lying around. I think they can be a little expensive depending on the brand but she said that if you buy the tiny bottles then it's super affordable.  You can get them at any craft store.

We just googled Mustaches and found an image for reference and then used a sharpie to draw a basic outline on the mugs. If you mess this part off all you have to do is rub really hard with your thumb and it will come right off, this is why regular sharpies don't work!

Then we just colored in the lines with the paint.  If you mess up on this part, the paint will scratch off after it dries or you can just rub it off with a paper towel.

We also added a funny phrase on the back of each mug to make it more personal. This part might look better (and be easier) with an acrylic sharpie but oh well!

Please note that with these mugs you have to wash them by hand or else the paint will come off.  We could have added an acrylic top coat but we didn't have the time to go search for one.

So here you have it. The finished products.  The bowl on the end says "My Stache" on the back. We made this one for our Director Of Operations. She can write down good things that happen to her throughout the year and put them in there to read later on.

The rainbow one is for our Theatre Manager (my boss). We asked him if he could have a mustache in any color what would it be and he said "is rainbow an option?" On the back it says "Mustache Man". Right before November he grew a handle bar mustache. It was epic.

Enjoy these super easy (and super cute) holiday gifts!

My Week In Photos

Ahhhhh finals week is over! I must say I feel like I can breathe a little easier, there's a little pep in my step.  I'm looking forward to winter vacation and relaxing for a change until January rolls around and I have to do this all over again.

Anyways, below is documentation that I survived this week.

Roxi helpin a sister out with Geography homework

My outfit this week. I believe I rolled up to both of my finals dressed like this
before going home and changing into real clothes for my internship

My snazzy red pants. I LOVE these! I wear this outfit so much my boss has started
calling me "red pants"

My roommate and I decided to exchange X-Mas gifts early
due to finals stress.  She got me a jewelry organizer shaped like an owl.
I got her an iron skillet shaped like a guitar!

The view from my (boss's) desk at work.  We had to be open until 2am because of finals.
Nothing sucks more than being forced to stay on campus that late.

Last night, celebrating no more finals!

A little treat my roommate brought me.  Haagen-Dazs and cookies from McDonald's

Conversations with my roommate. I've been obsessed with
Winston ever since Mumford & Sons came and played
the Gryphon.

The outfit I wore last night to my boss's holiday party. Those shoes
are so gorgeous but so so so hard to walk in.

Finals

A little pick-me-up

My finals "week" started today. I actually only had one final today and I have one tomorrow.

The final I had today was worth around 7% of my grade but the project that I slaved over was worth 49% of my grade. What kind of logic is that?

Well I got an A on the project and I could care less what I got on the final.

I am so checked out at this point that I am literally counting the hours until my last final is done.

Every Day Makeup

Every day makeup

So here's my "everyday" makeup routine.  I change it up a lot but this is what I've been sticking to lately.

First, I apply my Garnier BB Cream.  I LOVE this product! I use it as a base for my foundation but on days when I'm not feeling a whole makeup look (like today) I just stick with this and some blush and then I'm done.

Then I apply my foundation. I change this up a lot but lately I've been loving the L'Oreal True Match Lumi foundation. It is supposed to give your skin some luminosity (a dewy look) which I guess it does. I really just like this foundation because it stays on all day if you use a setting powder or spray.

Then I conceal. I've been using the Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer. It brightens up under my eyes which is a must since I have dark circles because I don't get enough sleep #collegeproblems.

After that's all done I set it with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This stuff is awesome! I have oil skin which seems to get oilier and oilier and this powder helps keep that mess off of my face.

Then I contour with my bronzer. I just use an angle brush and get some on the hollows of my cheeks, my jawline, my temples and the sides of my nose.  It makes my face look skinnier and more defined. I do this even when I just wear the BB cream because it makes me look more put together when I'm not.

Now for blush. I like the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush.  It's a cream blush that looks kind of like a powder once it's applied.  It doesn't stay all day so I have to reapply it whenever I get the chance. Right now I use the color Rose Petal. It's like a soft pink and gives my face some warmth without being to harsh.

Then it's on to the brows.  I ALWAYS fill in my brows, even when I'm not wearing any makeup.  Filling in your brows instantly makes you look better and since I've over plucked through the years I look kind of weird without it. I use Maybelline Define-A-Brow and I will never use any other product.

Then I apply some mascara. I don't have a favorite mascara, I just grab whatever I have and apply lots of it. I like the thick dark look on my lashes since it makes my eyes pop.

Finally I add a lip balm. It's usually Mabelline Baby Lips. I like the color Pink Punch right now since it adds some more color to my face without being to much. I usually always have one of these babies with me.

That's it!

iPhone Obsessed

My lock screen photo. I know I've shown it before but I mean it's pretty awesome.
My home screen background is very grrr baby!

The creeptastic photo I took of my friend/coworker John
at work the other day.
My baby Charlie! He lives with my momma in Colorado
and I miss him so so so much!
I'm a little mustache obsessed if you couldn't tell.
To get this picture go HERE

My super awesome red pants which I can't get enough of!

Me! This morning before work

Oh You Fancy Huh?

I changed up the design a little bit. The old one just wasn't bright enough.

The background and header are courtesy of Babbling Brooke Designs.  I'm so grateful for finding her site off of Pinterest!

I'm really feeling the Chevron and Zebra print (2 of my favorite things!)

Roxi was not very happy that my attention was focused
more on my laptop than it was on her.

I hope everyone likes this new design! I personally think it's much cheerier and definitely expresses my personality a little bit more. It's a little fancier and more aesthetically pleasing too!

Here is what the old layout use to look like for comparison .
I honestly was so bent on changing things up because I'm procrastinating finishing my study guides....and I'm also blog obsessed!

Under Construction

I'm changing things up right now layout wise so the blog might look a little funk for the next couple of hours.

Bare with me folks and it will look normal again in a little bit.

All I Want For Christmas Is You, And You, And You....

Christmas is coming! I'm taking this opportunity to procrastinate and make up a Christmas wish list.  It's a bit excessive and I doubt Santa has any of this stuff for me in his giant red bag but a girl can dream right?

The Makeup Forever HD Complexion Starter Kit.
Found HERE at Sephora, the kit is $79. I'm thinking I might really treat myself and order one after finals week as a reward for making it out alive (hopefully).

Kate Spade iPhone 4s case.
It's currently on sale at Nordstrom for $24 and would make my iPhone look so pretty!

UGG Bailey Button Triplet Boot

It's $230 at Nordstrom but I really do need new a new pair of UGG boots and I don't have any black ones....

A Michael Kors Chronographer Watch

It's practically a steal at $250 from Nordstrom! Ok maybe not really but it's so amazing!
I'm hoping to actually get one for when I graduate!

I mean that list might be a bit much but go big or go home right?
